Ok so heres the deal i have a K&N FIPK that is installed on my 2001 Dak R/T, and what happened was the breather tube to the valve cover broke off, its the little tube that comes out of the back of the intake arm on the passenger side of the engine, and that is attached to a rubber tube about 8inches long going to the valve cover.
Will I be able to get a whole new unit from K&N as defective product? Tried calling (todays sunday there closed)
for the mean time i plugged off the hole to the intake arm , and bought one of those small little filters that look like there from K&N and put on the valve cover breather whole.
what do you guys think about this whole situation, and has anyone had this happen to them as well?

Yep, had a similar problem with mine. Maybe from over tightening the bolt on top I cracked the air hat really good. Didnt notice it until I removed it one day and saw a whole bunch of spider cracks on it. I was stressed. Anyway.....I contacted K&N and told them of it, mine was only 5months old and I was willing to pay for a new air hat, all they asked me for was a picture of it on the truck. So I sent them a flick and a copy of the check I used to pay for it with and the next thing I know I received a new air hat assembly in about 2 days. I was thrilled, now thats how service should be. Hope you have the good luck I did getting mine replaced.

I called K&N monday and worked everything out so they are sending me the replacement intake arm, and i just have to send the broken one back.
I didnt have to pay for anything and mine only had about 400 miles on it, and it shipped out today so i should get the new one by the end of the week.
