Subject: OEM cat IP: Logged
Message: I have strong reason to believe I need to replace my cat. I got one of those "universal" cats, which will, as it turns out, not fit my truck (2000 Dodge Dak 3.9 4x4). Does ANYBODY know where I can get either an OEM or direct-fit cat without having to shell out hundreds of dollars? HELP!!

Message: Why won't it fit? They come in several different sizes. Any custom exhaust shop should be able to take care of you.

Message: I ordered the one that most closely matched the stock one. Seems on the original install, the inlet and outlet pipes connect with the cat at pretty sharp angles, whereas the "universal" I got has straight pipes. The fella I have do my work (who has been doing mechanics for 20 years, so I feel pretty confident in him) says that, due to my truck being a 4x4, there's not enough room for him to cram this one in without pretty much mangling the cat.
