Subject: adding rear sway bar = new truck IP: Logged
Message: Well,,, at least it seams that way.
I put a Belltech 3/4" rear sway bar on my 00 CC last week and it made a huge difference in the way the truck handles. The truck used to feel realy loose going around corners and pushed hard with crosswinds on the freeway, it always felt like the azz end was losing traction. Got to test it out today on the freeway and the truck sticks to the corners and doesn't push with strong crosswinds, even sticks to tight corners around town much better. Wished I had put this on the truck years ago.
I went with the 3/4" Belltech instead of a 7/8" Addco or Hotchkis since it was only $100 at truckperformance.com (sorry guys, they only had 1 on clearance). It seems that the 3/4" Belltech rear sway bar compliments the 1 5/16" front sway bar realy nice.
We'll see how front and rear urethane bushings tighten up the truck in a couple of weeks ;)

Message: I added the Addco 7/8 to my Sport when I bought it, I also added Bilsteins and dropped it. Massive improvement.

Message: DSW, did you have the factory sway bar on your truck before the new one?? I have a factory rear sway bar on my dak, and it looks pretty tiny (maybe 1/2") I havent measured it, but it sure looks small... the truck already handles good, but I can feel the wind a good bit on the roads... it still feels MUCH better than the RC I had, as it had NO rear sway bar at all.....
Just curious..
00 CC Sport Plus 4.7L 4X4 Auto, 3:55 LSD Flowmaster orig. 40 series (2 chamber) muffler, adjusted tps to .76V, ported TB, home brew intake setup w/K&N filter, more mods to come!!! Dan MOPAR=More Power!!

Message: I didn't have a sway bar on the truck before, but the axel had the sway bar pads welded on. From looking around I think the stock rear sway bar is 9/16", at least that's what they call for on stock urethane bushings.
