Subject: Durango Duals?

Message:
If I ordered a MBRP split dual exhaust for a reg. cab 4x4 dakota with a 4.7, would it fit my 01 durango 4x4, with the 4.7, because it is practically the same frame and wheel base. Let me know, thanks.

DG, if a auto parts store has the time, I'd ask
them to look up exhaust parts for both the
Durango and Dakota and see if maybe part numbers
match.

If that doesn't work out, go to a muffler shop and
ask them. A modern shop that bends their own pipes
would also have specs for both.

Good luck

a dual Cat back?

Hey, while your at it, split it into about six pipes fter the one Y pipe?

Dual cat back- cracks me up every time, what losers just split it after the one cat?

Then, they justify it by saying it felt faster!!

Only to dyno nothing

You mean-First, all the dual cat back systems that I know of also include a muffler that is less restrictive than the stock one, so it does in fact help boost power. Second, alot of people(myself included) like the looks of the dual pipes coming out the back, or the side, or angled to the corners whichever they choose. Third, in using the less restrictive exhaust, a more robust exhaust note is achieved, which alot of people also enjoy. Where is your proof that cat back systems add nothing on the dyno? Have you ever even seen a dyno run? I can tell you for a fact that adding these systems will add some power if you dyno them. Not as much as the manufacturer claims, but there is some gain. I guess what I'm saying is quit being such a DICK.

Did you ever see the size of the muffler on your
Dakota? Mine on my 02 4.7 4X4 is big enough for
a Mack truck! lol

Just loosing that monster will gain you some HP.
It's gotta be 50 pounds!

I somewhat agree with, you mean. A "Cat Back"
dual "tail" pipe system is NOT true duals. When
my 50 pounder goes to hell I do plan on putting
the "Cat Back" tail pipe system on but I won't
cross the left side tail pipe over to the right
side of the truck just to "pretend" it's a true
dual system. I'll have both tail pipes exit side
by side like the one pipe is now. In fact, I may
go with only one larger tail pipe insted of two.
I still have to look at what is offered for
replacement.
