someone please help me out, i was reading an old article in motortrend and they said that the a v8 dakota slt was a second faster than the rt (1/4 mi), can anyone let me know where i can get an answer or if you are sure of the actual performance numbers of these 2 trucks, i am seriously contimplating whether or not to by a new rt,, thanks

Anything could influence those numbers, but if you talk to the guys racing the trucks at the track, stock RT's are consistently in the mid 14's where as the slt, and sports with 5.2L motors are in the 15's (stock) Do not go by quarter mile times to influence your buying decision. Any truck can be modified to run as fast as you want. Pick the one that you will enjoy when you are not at the track.

tempeture, altitude, track conditions, and driver all play a huge part in 1/4 mile times. were these trucks tested on the same day with the same driver?
