Message: I just figured out how to port a throttle body in about half the time using a drill press & a straight grinding stone about 1 1/2 " long, purchased from the red-neck mecca (WALMART). Just set the drill press with the stone to where it just clears the butterfly, lock in the drill press table & start grinding, rotating the TB clockwise. I had the d/p at 1720 RPM. When you can see the stone making contact with the inside bore just above the butterfly, stop. That's when you finish the job with the dremel, & I went a step farther, using a polishing attachment & some rubbing compound. It really came out nice & smooth. Total time from removing TB to turning the key was about an hour & a half. Turned out a lot nicer than previous attempts.

Message: That's a cool idea. I did mine all by hand using the air dremel.
I also have a drill press. That will be an idea for next time.

Message: That's some cool pics Old Fool. Did you bevel the fwd edges? Looks like you did in the photo. It seems that a lot of people ignore that part of the process, or at least I haven't seen it mentioned here before. That's about prezactly what mine looks like.

Message: Yup, I did the front edges. I ran that t-body for about 2 months then got a 70mm F&B and sold that ported one to Y2Kota down in Texas. I finished out the F&B before I installed it.

Message: Was there a noticeable difference between your ported & the 70mm? When I say noticeable, I mean one that could justify the price.

Message: Thanks N56629.
There was a noticable difference, not earth shattering, but a difference. If you purchase the F&B and then sell your ported stocker for say $125 to $150 then yes it is worth the price. If nothing else in asthetics alone. The F&B is a sexy unit compared to the stocker. If you go the same size as the factory t-body say 68mm exchange for a 68mm F&B I don't think it would be worth it, but go a couple mm's bigger like I did and yes it should be worth it IMHO.
