Message: My buddy had a '94 S10 with a 350 vortec and a turbo 350 transmission. I thought that it was a beast, but the fact that they totally rigged the wiring on it (not him, the guy he bought it off of) made it non-reliable. They are fun, but you are not going to go on a road trip with one. If you do it right then that makes it so much better. Anyways, the S10 is lighter so it has that advantage if you have a V8 in it. Oh well.

Message: Obviously Craprolet Sh!t-10 owners with V8s can't drive.
I've also raced a modded S-10, 4.3L, ext. cab, manual tranny and still won. Guy said he had intake manifold, cam, Y-pipe & exhaust, and clutch work done. He was close the whole way, but I was still in front of him.
Unfortunately, S-10s have only V6's and will never be that fast.

You do all that work to your truck yourself?
Because if you did, you would see that the 06 hunk of Dakota junk you raced is very heavy, and AWD might help with launch, but sucks hp.
So whoopdeedoo to you Jimmy!
What do you run in the 1/4?

15.6 @ 89 mph
Ran on 215/75/15 tires and all four O2 sensors malfunctioning.

TBIs are so junk and so outdated. I used to have one. I could smoke it so badley with my V6 5-speed. They are not built that strong.

15.6 is respectable
But,,,
My old POS V8 S-10 V8 would run 14.5's,,,
Too bad I don't have it anymore, we could have some fun,,, or at least I could... LOL
Ya know, I don't have anything against Dak's, heck I have owned 2 of them. I just find it funny when people slam V8 S-10's,,, and don't have a clue of thier potential. Your basically looking at truck with the drivetrain of a Camaro or Vette, that weighs the same as these cars.

Message: I do not mind a V8 S10. I like the fact of having one. I think that GM should have made that an option, but... but unless it is carburated or Vortec injection it is junk. I have seen the potential of TBI motors. I am not impressed. I have owned 3. They are ok for getting around, but not for performance. GMs are great because of the fact of the wide variety of the parts that are available for them. I still love the looks and performance of my Dakota. There are way too many full-size Chevrolets and S10s. There are so many that it is hard to be different anymore. Because everybody has done this and done that. They are still nice to look at, but they get annoying after awhile.

Message: Word DSW!
14.5 is more fun than 15.6.
Considering my 3.55 open diff and only 230 HP, it works. Maybe 235 with the intake:)
Honestly, I respect anyone that has done the work to put a V8 in the S-10, because that makes it as cool as a Dak. On the other hand, I really did beat the guy I raced, but, if I ever raced another, I don't intend I'd get that lucky. Either he couldn't drive or his engine was crap.
Although a HEMI Dak might be just as fast.
I did beat a Magnum R/T, w/ intake and exhaust, to 60 mph, but lost the race in the end. He won with a 14.9@90 something.
I also lost that night to an 06' Mitsu Eclipse GT.
He only ran a 15.3@93. I thought I was going to win, but my truck has no top end.
This was @ Speed World in Surprise, AZ. They shoot Pinks the TV show there sometimes.
I have since installed new O2 sensors. Definitely feels faster and can't wait to get to the track.

Nice S-10 Jon.
What is almost stock?
Manny Tranny?
What elevation?
What tires and gearing?
13.5 seems a little fast for a stock 350.
Even if its in an S-10.
