run like its 40 degrees... you're pushing it.... cold air induction will give you the best push, fuel rail cooling wont do much for you unless you're maxed out and have nothing else to give HP.. Haven't heard of any intercoolers for N/A either... as for moving, Juneau Alaska would be a close bet for running like its 40 outside!

Better performance with cold air? Sure, no question about it. The real question is, how involved do you want to get? The Ford mustang SVO has an A/C coil for an intercooler. That's about as good as it gets. S/C companies like Paxton sell an air:water intercooler. Might work well for racing if you fill it with ice water, but would probably have limited street use.

For best economics and reliabilty, I would look at a true cold air induction. Which really means ambient temp air induction.

Colder fuel is sometimes helpfull. Remember cools can for carbed cars? Summit racing sells a radiator type cooler that fits in line with AN fittings. Again, not sure how much cooling you would actually get. The simple/cheap/safe solution is to wrap all fuel lines and rails with a good insulating material. Jegs and Summit sell some pretty good products for this.

If heat is a real issue, consider applying a heat barrier to the bottom of the manifold.

Do a search, you'll find lots of information on added power. As always, during your research ask the following questions:

1. Can you prove it? If someone says they shaved an entire second of their ET by changing to some fancy spark plug, I would need proof.

2. What does it cost? Are you willing to spend $500 to get 5hp?

3. Is it worth it? Is that 5 hp at 6200 rpm's? And will you ever use that 5 hp?

4. Does it meet my intended use? If that 5 hp is at 6200rpm's and it's at the cost of some low rpm torque, do you really want that for your trailer towing Dakota?

your going to be wasting your time bothering with these things (fuel rail cooling, messing around with air temperatures (just get the k&n fipk)) unless you already have some real mods. I did all the little stuff like autolite 3923 plugs, wires, ignition, IAT adjuster, 180 stat, etc. I laugh everytime i see people listing these things as there mods. Doing all of these "Mods" is only a preperation for bigger mods. It isnt going to make you faster however can help keep your engine healthy.
