I have one on my 97 5.2, along with PPH Headers and Gibson Catback. It went on after the Cat-back, but before the headers. I wouldn't expect to see any performance increase (maybe 1-2 hp). It is possible it will help increase the effect of the headers. Should not kick off the Check Engine Light. It will definitely sound a lot nicer though, mine sounded considerably louder with the Gibson and Carsound Cat
