I'm considering trading in my 2000 2wd 3.9L v6 Dakota 7500km for a 1999 4x4 5.2L v8 with 5500km on it. Is this trade worth it in terms of going back one year, the added traction I'll get in winter I get tons of snow and ice where I live. Also want kind of gas mileage diference am I looking at here?

Assuming that all other considerations are equal - options, condition, etc - it's probably a good trade. The V8 has a higher resale value, more power is always good, 4x4 is really nice, and 2,000 Km is nothing. But your fuel mileage is going to go right down the toilet. Oh, well. Life's full of trade offs.

Ah, well, that does make a differance. Now we need to look at maint records as well. 25,000 Km is a lot of miles to just blow off. Take a real close look before makiing the trade. And be sure and look at KBB for a general value guide.
