Message: Hey fellas, I gots a couple questions. I have a 2001 cc r/t. airaid intake flowmaster muffler, suspension, and 275/50/17 gotta keep the stock rims.I am looking for more power i was told a chip and then not to. Hypertech or jet. What is the difference in this performance. And the difference with a Mopar PCM, what is a PCM. I do not want to change the reliability in my truck or something that will give me problems in the future?

Message: PCM is the main computer, takes less than 5 minutes to swap out. It'll advance your timing, raise the rev limited, speed limited. Definitely changes the behavior of the truck :-) Most instances, will probably knock .2-.3 off your 1/4 mile time, maybe more. If you keep your foot out of the gas, will increase MPG as well, but most cases, requires you to run higher octane (93 usually). Besides the Custom Flash, the Mopar PCM is the best computer mod to go with. Hypertech is a mixed bag, would probably work ok with your mods, but a lot more prone to spark knock, even with 93 octane, than the Mopar PCM is, and it doesn't give the perfromance of the Mopar PCM. Also, I've heard the Hypertech is pretty much useless once you get into heavier mods (rockers, cam, headers, etc). Stay away from Jet. Where you're at in Mods, the Mopar PCM (or maybe even custom flash) is going to be the best bang-for-buck HP mod. After that, go with F&B TB (52mm I think, since I think stock on R/T is 50mm???), M-1 intake manifold, Headers, 1.7 rockers. Oh, and if you haven't already, switch to a 180 t-stat and Autolite 3923 plugs (not the platinum ones either), and good set of wires.

Message: Mopar pcm is not available for a 2001 r/t.
BG flash(send in your pcm to be flashed).
You already have a cold air intake..i use kngen2.
Flowmeterics 50 or 52 mm throttlebody
or fastman 52mm.
m1 2bbl intake.
2.5" true duals or 3.5" single exhaust...ie those are the recommended sizes for 300 hp at the crank which you should achieve with the basic bolt ons.
GS motorsports headers...mopar headers maybe.
180 stat
rockers..stall convertor..valve body/shift kit/coil/ignition upgrade...do those after the basics.
should get you 60-70 hp and tq over stock on the top end.

Message: the stock TB on a R/T is an unpolished 48mm and from what I heard from my dyno guy is that you're better off with a chip or new PCM because you can do some MAJOR damage with a programmer esp. if you don't know what to do with it.
