It was interesting reading about a 4.7 HO. I wonder first, what mods they made and second, what the stats are. Something to look forward to!

I found a couple updated stats. HP of the new 4.7HO motor is 270HP and it's expected to be only in the Grand Cherokee next year. They estimate the big Jeep will run 14.7 1/4. Hopefully the mod's done can be applied to the current 4.7. I have a feeling it will be DOHC instead of SOHC.

The differentce between the Neon R/T and the rest of the 2.0 liters is simply just that.

I think they can make the additional 35 horepower easily enough simply by being more aggressive on the timing and fuel curves in the PCM. Although I will admit it would be nice if they would come out some H.O. cams or intakes for this bad boy. Hell, at this point any upgrade would be welcome!

Not on the current Neon R/T - it has the SOHC 150-hp engine. I seriously doubt that the 4.7HO will be mechanically much different - probably cam and PCM changes, probably different exhaust, perhaps different intake manifold. An extra 35 HP isn't that hard to come up with.
