Subject: m1 4bbl-2bbl adapter IP: Logged
Message: i have a question about an adapter for the m1 4bbl manifold. do the reducer plates block any flow? i am going to buy a 4bbl manifold with a 2bbl throttlebody allready on it. i was just wondering if it will perform the same. thanks

Message: Not sure I understand your question. The only way to get a 2bbl. on the 4bbl. is with the adaptor. The adaptor doesn't really effect the airflow. The only 4bbl. t-body I know of was made by Mopar and can be found on E-bay occanionly for around $500 but the F&B 58mm 2bbl. flows more air for less money.

Message: ok , i was just wondering if a 4bbl manifold with the 2bbl adapter would flow like the 2bbl manifold. i wanted to see if there would be any restrictions. i asked because there was an auction on ebay with that setup and i was going to bid on it, thanks anyway man!

Message: The 4bbl. will flow more air even with the adaptor than a 2bbl. The 4bbl. has shorter runners and a larger plenum than the 2bbl. The runner length is around 4in. on the 4bbl. and 8 inches on the 2bbl. or something like that. The 4bbl. works best on high revving and blown applications. If you are staying N/A the 2bbl. is the way to go.

Message: I've had my 4/2 M1 since '99 (2 bbl wasn't out yet) and power really jumps at 5500 rpm and up. My peak hp is at 5800 and has pretty flat curve afterwards with my combo of mods.
