Anyone ever run a stock or stockish dakota 5.2 CC auto with 4x4 down a dragstrip? Id like to think i run 16.3-16.5. Im a little aprehensive to take it down the strip myslef with it haveing 90k and being 16 its gotta last me. I did have a brief encounter (okay okay a race) with a jeep cherokee who had run a 16.6 or 7 and i spanked it.

So why are you affraid to run it?
The way I look at it....If you run it and something breaks, it was bound to happen anyways. I would much rather it break 1/2 down the 1320 then when I'm pulling out in front of that 18 wheeler bearing down on me at 60mph.
I also feel that if something DOESN'T break,....your not trying hard enough. (insert smile).
I race my car frequently, as often as I can. i'm gald that my axles have not broken yet, but on the other hand i know that can push my car further....It's security I guess, A lot of people I know have broken their axles with 250whp, I've surpassed that. So that means one of three things
1) I'm not trying hard engough
2)my tires don't have enough traction (my guess according to my speed and 1/4 mile time)
3) I'm a damn good driver.
I say race it and have a good time....

15.7@87 with mopar pcm, ram air hood, viper fan and headers. Ram air hood was not worth a whole lot (looks good though), but this is a 92 with 3" exhaust, and from what I understand a little more aggressive computer setup. Down to 14.3@96.5 with the SCer on it, ignition, etc... Waiting on my larger idler pulley to run the smaller SCer pulley at 10psi vs 6psi now. 3" out of the muffler is next (stupid GA muffler shop dicked me) cat will go, new springs and rockers to run 6K... blah blah.....

93 Reg cub short bed 5.2 with headers,3 inch exhaust with converter,msd ignition,Mp computer with 3.55 gears and stock 14" tires.now spinning since installed computer.14.50's.it should run a 40 or 30 if it hooks.underdrive pulley next week

Would you rather find the problems half way down the 1320 or while pulling ou in front of that 18 wheeler? If you have doubts about your vehicles reliabilty you shouldn't be driving it on a public highway anyway...

I have a 97' CC auto 4x4. Ran a 15.8 but hit the top end limiter before the line. I have a homemade air intake, headers, Jet chip, shiftkit and a 75 shot. Was just outrunning a mazda that was turning 14.6's all night when the limiter kicked in.
