Subject: F&B TB help IP: Logged
Message: I purchased an F&B TB several months ago. I have noticed the idle is very irratic. Is there a fix to this, or did I install something wrong.
I have an intense performance stage 3 cold air intake. I have also noticed the pedal vibration some have talked about but that one doesn't bother me as much. Is there a fix for that.
Oh, I also noticed a small o-ring in the box when I was cleaning the other day. Did I forget to put this on somewhere or did it come from something else.
The IAC could be put on either way. Could it be upside down or does it matter?
Recently my check engine light came on. I dont know if it has to do with this or not but advice would be appreciated.
Sorry for all the questions and the long post.

Message: So many questions....
Start with the IAC sensor at the very back of the TB facing the firewall. It has a plunger on it. Take the sensor back out and clean the carbon that is likely built up on it. DO NOT PUSH the plunger in with your fingers or you will screw it up. Be careful.
After that try replacing your TPS sensor.
Of course before you change anything find out what code you have first as it may tell you which sensor is failing.

Message: Sounds like that's your TB gasket you forgot to put on.
As rtspeeddemon pointed out, think it's either your IAC or TPS.

Message: Ok, I removed the IAC and it had an o-ring on it already. I went ahead and cleaned the carbon off and put it back on.
Does the TPS suppose to have an o-ring? Or Maybe the o-ring I have is a new one F&B gave me to replace the one on the IAC. Maybe it goes on the TPS? I dont know?
I borrowed an engine diagnostic tool from my dad and got code 161. Does anyone know what this is? He lost his manual. Thanks

Message: The check engine light just went off after being on for about a week straight.
I still have code 161 though. I guess I will change the o2 sensors.
Does anyone know what I should do about the idle problems?
