Message: the rockers will make a differents, but not a neck breaking one
crowler and harland sharpe make a good rocker
good luck for under $300
have you thought about a cam instead of the rockers,a little more money but more options,
KRC and hughes engines have them,go with a regrind around $200 from hughes exchanged
the guy from the dealer sounds like he,s blowing smoke up your ask

Message: The harland sharp rockers are alluminum which means that they will eventually warp or tear apart... May not be the next year, but eventually... BUT however they do not need the valve lash set on them simply because they are a direct bolt in... The Crowers are all steel and if anyone will give you the best deal it's Sam over at socaldakota.com ... These however will need valve lash set, but which ever you do go with make sure to get the 1.7 ratio's simply because it's the only one's that will give you the noticable gains from making your engine see a bigger cam than what it has...

Message: The 1.7 Harland Sharps made a big inprovement on my 98 5.2 4x4 Dakota. At the time I only had a K&N Gen II and Flowmaster single in dual out 40. I got them from John Mercedes at southeastrt.com. He is an eccelent person to deal with and is always quick to reply to E-mails if you have any questions. I'm new to this site and never posted before but have been visiting it for about a year now. Great site and lotsa good info. All my mods have come from reading old posts on this site. Keep up the good work.

Message: Aluminum rockers will work just fine unless you're zinging the motor 7000 rpms or more for long durations. Get the harland sharps. They're a good product for the money.

Message: Greg as mentioned above HS RR are warrantied so no issue there.
If you want to pay double unnecessarily for Crowers be my guest.
I run a superchargered R/T and my HS RR are working just fine and under $300.00 bucks.

Message: Yes, but the all steel rockers will hold up to the high rpm's "4500 +" forever and will never need readjusting... The alluminums will eventually bend and flex a little resulting in a less ratio, needing to be readjusted, and possibly if gone without notice you'll have improper valve guide wear from now bad valve train geometry... I'de just rather spend $60.00 more and never have to worry about any of that personally not to mention that the crowers have held up through 5000 + rpms constantly along with nitrous, turbos, and superchargers for quite some time...
If the harland's are what you want I'm not going to argue against it, infact I pointed out in my original post that the harlands are direct bolt ins and are a little easier to install as a result of this... I personally just went with the crower rr's and guideplates because they will last through just about anything not to mention you can play with the preloads to get the most power possible out of the motor...

Message: What is the part number on the crowers that you have? And where did you buy them at and for a total price of what? Thanks for all the input so far.
