I'm just wondering if anyone is brave enough to post a message regarding a loss they had in a drag. I've just been reading the posts regarding who is faster and it seems that no matter what, the Dak always wins. Anyone care to introduce a case of reality? :)

I loose a lot heads up at the drag strip every friday night. No shame here. You can make your kids little red wagon fast with enough money I guess. Last Friday night I won second place in street tire division, which means I lost First place to a '70 Chevy Short Step bed with a built 350ci in it. I beat him across the line and had to spot him .7ths of a second. His reaction time was better than mine and he ran closer to his dial in without breaking out, I boke out.

I had my ass handed to my by a sweet silver quad cab Dak on I35 a few weeks ago. Got spanked by a Z06 the other day, and the list goes on. Might as well race to find out,,,only live once.

Lose to motorcycles a lot :-)
I'll lose quite often at the track during T&T, etc. On the street, I've lost to 1 5.0 (though I beat him off the line nicely) Had a Sentra type R? run me down, but I had him from launch till 90? Would have beaten him in the 1/4 probably though. Lost to another mustang a few months ago (5.0), but I totally spun it through 1st, by the time I hooked up, he was 3-4 car lengths and leaving. Loose to my buddies WRX all the time :)
Smoked a cavalier in the rain just the other day, didn't realize he was trying to run me until I was doing 30mph. For some reason, all the Z28's, etc chicken out *shrug* Guess I'm not worthy enough :-)
Haven't lost to a ricer on the street yet tho.

Lost to a mustang at the stoplight wars; but I've beaten a few too. No big deal - we give a pretty good weight advantage to most of what we come up against. Seems like a lot of people here afraid to run until its confirmed they can beat what they're up against; but I don't think most of us are like that.

I've also been beat by a z06, but what can ya do? I really haven't lost that many races. When I go to the local spot to race, no one ever wants to. I think they under estimate the speed of a 4.7 rc. All my friends have cavys, some with everything short of a turbo and I still put them to shame... if it's not wet out. I have lost to a civic dx though! but then again he had swapped and added a turbo puttin him in low 12's and had no one else to race so I went for it.

Sure, but how many people involved in anything competitive spend their time talking about the times they lost? It's not about reality, it's about feeling good. That means accentuate the positive, right? How popular would this site be if the posts were all about how some guy in a ricer missing on 3 cylinders and smoking like a chimney blew the doors off a Dak? We wanna hear how somebody's Dak handed some rich kid his ass on a plate!

I lost to a Eclipse the other day. I was Cruising down I-5 at about 75 and he came up on me. i punched it when he was at my rear bumper. I hung with him a for a little bit but at about 105 he pulled away from me easily.

I have a 300hp R/T - I have lost to two cars, the worst was a 911 turbo and then theres my budy brandon with a 97 z28 ~ he has gears, software, some kind of after market distributer, shift kit, and a few other small mods that put him @ about 360hp,, ---> those damn gears ughhh!
He has a blower now too (just got it not installed) - Ill never stop racing him but I dont think I will ever take him.

I guess I should metion I'm going forced induction too... I just dont think the dak will take this Z28 - Brandon spends all his money on that car so he wont loose, but I have a house to pay for & he doesnt.

Lets see I have taken my 4x4 4.7 QC to the track twice today will be 3x. first time got smoked by a 2x 1500 Ram w/360 and mods. Last week got smoked by a 02 R/T with minor mods. both were in the final round of heads up racing at the infamous George Rays wildcat drag strip in Paragould Arkansas. Today I expect to get smoked by my buddies SS Chevy. If the R/T or the Ram don't get me first. Making it to the final round with a 4x4 Dak with minor mods is pretty good. The class is supposed to be pure stock trucks. Last week there were 9 trucks, 3 Dodges 2 were Daks. The final round was my 4x4 and a R/T. The quarter final the R/T took out the 1500, I got a bye run. The tower wanted to see a Dakota shootout I guess. If there are any more tricked out Daks in the area, I would like to see them at Georges some weekend I am there every sunday. Sorry for the long post.

Well the races are over for another week. I got beat....AGAIN. The R/T redlighted in the first round against me so I go to the next round. My time 9.99. I win against a chevy. quarter finals I lose against 1500 RAM who goes on to take the overall win. After 3 straight weeks the 4.7 cannot muster the guts to take the 360. Although gear combinations and me being a 4x4 has alot to do with it. Just having a blast!!

A 90's vette
A late 90's Supra
A 90'm RX-7. Yeah the model before the RX-8.
I almost took the RX-7. It was from a roll. I think if it was from a dead stop I wouldn't have stood a chance.
The vette was for sh!ts and giggles. I knew I couldn't win. I just wanted to see him take off.
The supra was the same as the vette.
