Message: I installed a Fastman 52mm tb last week, and I finally had a chance to run it at the track to see how much better it would run. Well, to make a long story short, I gained 2 1/100th of a f***ing second over my stock tb. And it just got worse throughout the night. I have a quad cab with a 5.9L and I got beat by another quad cab with a f***ing 4.7L! WTF! I'm probably going to call Dan at Fastman and tell him to take this piece of sh1t and give me back my stock tb and my $250.

Message: Yes, I reset it. The conditions don't mean squat when a 4.7L beats a 5.9L - same body style.

Message: Word has it that 52mm is too large UNLESS you're boosting or camming. Yes, there is such a thing as going too big.

Message: Don't flip out because you bought a good throttle body and installed it on a stock engine and it didn't make you fly like a turbo. You have to do other mods to match your TB if you want to get the most out of it.
You have nothing to be angry at except your own ignorance.

Message: If you go too large with your TB you start to lose low end torque, this in turn will make you slower in the quarter. Also if its only been a couple miles since you reset your computer you havent given the PCM time to learn.

Message: I was a little upset last night. I guess I shouldn't have been. Hell, there was another guy there who has run 15.3 before and couldn't get under 16. I did manage to have my fastest ever ET, but only once. I wasn't looking at the whole picture. I'm going to be putting a supercharger on within a month or 2, so I'm sure that will remedy my bad experience at the track. :)

Message: You're upset because a 4.7 beat you?
I think you'll just have to accept the fact that many 4.7s will be quicker than you are even after you put a supercharger on.

Message: Duner, it's not the fact that a 4.7L beat me, hell there are 2 others there that I know that smoke me badly, but I know what they've done to them. The upsetting part is that my times were pretty much the same after putting on this TB. Although, I was looking through some old time slips and I did manage to get about 2mph faster.

Message: So far, just the K&N intake, Flowmaster 3" exhaust. I'm planning on installing a supercharger within a month or so. If I don't go that route, then an M1 intake, 1.7 rockers, headers.

Message: When I went to buy my Dak last year I looked and looked for Dak quad cabs with the 5.9.
I couldn't find any. SO at the time I "settled" for the 4.7. I really wanted "old school" so I could do mods etc.
That was my mentality. But I have to tell you since having the 4.7 it has been MUCH easier to do most mods and the stock powerband pretty much puts the stock 5.9 to shame.
The engine runs strong from idle to the rev limiter. Which in my opinion, I need my (6K) rev limiter moved higher.
Oh yeah. I saw Duner's truck run. That 4.7 can run. It beat all but 1 modded 5.9 when I saw it.
No Lightings even touched it. Crazy little engine. Dodge did good with that engine. Don't take them as a bad thing like I originally assumed when I saw the 5.9 was gone.

Message: installing hp parts on your engine is very easy, installing ones that work with each other is not.
you gave your engine the availability to gulp large amounts of air, however with the stock cam and exhaust it cannot use it.
mom mopar tells u that if you change cpu, heads, cam and filter you will get X hp gain. if you only do one or two that does not mean you get part of the gain. the parts have to work together, you probably put new cam or 1.7 lifters next.
