Message: I have an 04 with a 4.7l engine. To date I had a flowmaster (50 series) cat back installed and this week put in the K+N fipk kit. Have not done the jet chip as of yet.
i like the k+n fipk, install pretty straight forward and I noticed an improvement of approx 10% on mileage. at 12k miles per annum, $2.00+/gallon the outlay should pay for itself in about 1 year.
so to net it all out, i would suggest the fipk kit as the next step. note i paid about $165 all up (including freiehgt) for the kit. its not cheap, but with a $30k truck i really didnt want to go with an off brand to save a few bucks.

Message: Where did you find a FIPK for the 4.7 for $165?
As the the Jet Chip, you should check some of the past posts on the Jet in the 4.7. If I recall correctly, the best way to make the truck faster with a Jet Chip is to throw it out the window for the weight savings.

Message: As far as the fipk, try www.n2performance.com, if you do a search on the web, there are several that price out in that range.

Message: You could build your own homebrew air intake for under $100 and bank the FIPK savings. Jeep HO cams alone add 15HP/ 25FT/LBS TQ. Bosch Platinum 4118 plugs for smoother idle, slight mpg gain.

People have dynoed what you have done, and got zzzzero gains. Of course the wallet weight reduction probably helped!
