Message: Most kits will come with a flash. Mine (kenne bell) did. With a charger you want some type of timing retard so you don't blow your motor. I know MSD sells a computer that can do it for ya. Some kits just tell you to run an intercooler and upgrade your injectors but if it starts to detonate look out....

Message: It really depends on your set-up.
I run a standalone system with my ATI procharger set-up as the factory computer could no longer handle the duties.
The more you mod the more likely the factory computer simply will not work.
Again every supercharger set-up is different so it all depends on what you bolt on and what other mods you have.
Timing & Air/Fuel ratio are critical when supercharging or things are going to go boom.

Message: The More I delt into the world of Supercharging.. I find that most HO usaly use a stand alone. But My KB came with everything you need . even the reflash of your EMC which I found to be a bit on the soft side.

Message: an intercooler may not be needed with systems producing 10 PSI or less, but they sure as hell help
hello ???? the power produced between a non intercooled and an intercooled setup are dramatic to say the least

Message: Buck nothing else is needed UNLESS he mods further, like an M1 Intake or CAM change etc etc then he is screwed plain and simple. KenneBell is great on a stock motor and is not mod friendly at all.
...and Yes an intercooler makes one h$ll of a difference. I have the intercooler which came with the ATI Procharger set-up and it makes a significant difference. Maybe not required but if you want the higher HP numbers its a must. My charger made a HP gain of 58%. You won't get a gain like that on a non-intercooled set-up, unless your running something like an Alky injection set-up instead of the intercooler.

Message: You cannot change the Induction system on the KB as the Blower is bolted to the Intake Manifold.. and if you compress the charge on a blow threw system at 10PSI or better you will need a Innercooler to cool the inlet charge to a usefull temp.. but if it is kept at 10PSI or less on a Pull threw system such as a KB the Inner cooler is not needed The Air/Fuel is not compressed, at first then blown threw your TB such as a Roots or a Spinner.. It is hard for some to see this differance between the types.. the Pos. displacement screw blow is at Max Boost right off of Idle. it is in full bypass tho only about 1 Psi boots here due to the size of inlet /bypass plumingthe speed of the Blower in a screw is not as imporant as the Boost control system which puts the Blower into bypass or Full boost. I cannot cheat the system to see how much boost I have at 1500 rpm, because the eng. will die when I force the bypass valve closed as there is no full for the added air flow.
Hope this explains what I am trying to say .. a Turbo needs a after/inner cooler big time because of the added heat and higher boost levels.. All the air that my 4.7 can use is in at 8PSI any more is just bypassed.. so I realy have no heat problem to address. I did some runs and post the findings to the Water/Alky E-group.. Which leads me to place mu brand new Mat Snow system up for sale any one interested contack me off group. I have add extra`s for diff mount of the system.
