 Subject: Intakes: Which One?

i'm looking on ebay at a few different intake systems for my 2000 4.7L. im wondering, is an intake just an intake? what i mean by that is, does it really matter which one i get? what are the variables that will affect performance? im looking at one thats $30 and one thats $175. any guidance would be great.
