How will perform that mopar cam "5007551" on my 99 Club Cab R/T that already has 1.7 roller rockers?

(For MPI Engines)
272/278dur/.467/.482lift

What is the power band for that cam?

It advertises 10 horses over the Magnum R/T Cam.

Peter.

It'll have a rough idle with that duration (and, probably, overlap - have to know the seperation). For each 10 degree increase in duration, you can expect the RPM range to go up about 500rpm. Without knowing what you have now, I'd guess it'd be in the 4000+ rpm range.

Only get the R/T cam if you are strickt about emissions. I am kinda disapointed in the performance of the cam. But i had high expectations going into the deal. and it is smooth as stock. powerband is good from 1500 to redline.

In my opinion It canīt be that smooth as the stock one, Janesy.

The "5007551" should be stronger than the R/T camshaft. Power band is suppose to be a little higher too, Donīt you think?

In fact , what Iīm looking for on this camshaft is more HP on the stock power band up to the redline(5250rpm)with the Mopar CPU.

Iīm thinking about 25HP more than the factory one does on our R/Tīs.

What Do you guys think about that?

Peter.

Sorry bout that, i just though R/T cam for some reason. Ya your right the R/T 2 cam sould be a little rougher, I have heard the it does need to be run up high for power.

It makes a nice little combo with the 1.7's. Should run strong in your R/T. Won't hurt your bottom end very much. I have a customer running that combo in a big, heavy Ram and he's happy.
