Subject: engine bucks IP: Logged
Message: i have a 01 dakota standard cab r/t i love it ithas 36k on it now and when ever im at high speed from 65 to 80 the rpms will rev a little like its bucking someone told me its the TPS (throttle positionig sensor) wondering if anyone has this prob and what they did to correct it any info would help

Message: could be the tps. intensedakota.com has info on how to adjust it, most daks also have a bucking prob around 5300 rpm.... damned fuel cutoff swtich. in my other life expierences ( no not reincarnation___ I'm a mechanic when I'm not at home goofing off on the net, I'd put some inquiry into your ignition system too, could be a bad cap and/or rotor, carbon buildup and depoisits, including natural wear could be causing that too. ---check your spark plugs for fouling.....

Message: Check your TB for oil fouling - symptom of a blown intake plenum gasket. When I changed mine out all the sensors on the TB were gummed up pretty bad and needed cleaned.

Message: check your air filter mine was loaded with grass cleaned it out an runs great now
