Message: I was driving down the highway in my 91 dak 3.9l v6 when I heard a clunk that sounded like it was coming from the trannie, I pulled over to the side of the road and took it out of gear, then when i tried to put it back it in gear it was was real hard. I got it into gear and was driving down the side of the road when the rear wheels lock up and the truck came to a stop. When I got under the truck and took off the slave cylinder it was all destroyed. When you try and turn on the truck it instantly dies.
The clutch is pretty new, is it possible that the truck is just stuck in first gear and that's why the rear wheels locked up? Or is my trannie dead? A new slave cylinder is on the way. Please help, thanks.

Message: it may be the trans, but before you buy one take the rubber groumet[boot]off of the bell housing
where the throw-out bearing arm comes threw
with a light look in the hole to see if anything looks out of place or damaged
also one of the springs in the clutch or pressure plate may have came out and jammed in
between each other, causing the noise you heard and not letting the trans shift
i,d check these things first,if everything looks
good, pull the trans and check the clutch and plate before buying a trans
just my .02
