I am stationed in Iraq right now and plan on having a friend do some work on my truck while I am gone. Since I am making tax free money I can actually afford to do some work for once. I already purchased a NX kit, Airaid intake, 70mm TB, and am looking at the HO Cams. I want to remove the speed and rev limiter and adjust the shift points. I know I can't Flash my PCM with nitrous though, so how do you get around this? It seems like everyone says you need a flash in order to really get the fullness of a mod. Will my PCM learn the new cams and TB?

As someone who has done a lot of work on my magnum engine I would say you only need to flash your computer if you want someone to make a custom program for specific items you will put in/on the engine. You can just bolt on parts, reset the pcm with the negative battery cable/ignition key thing or just give the engine a couple hundred miles to relearn things. People with custom flashes usually supercharge or have done many out of the ordinary things. I've heard about $400 for a custom flash.

Hope you come back soon.

You can run NX with a custom flash. Check out KenneBell Optimizer II, I have run the Optimizer II since I have had 800 miles on my truck and I've run a 100 shot on it with no adverse effects. The price is $349 and the only way they will not raise the speed limiter is if you have the 98 mph one.

Later,
