got mine from Hughes Engines.

I also have 4.10 gears and would recommend you get those or the 4.56's for towing. (wish I would have got the 4.56's)

The cams are nice and I would do it again in a heart beat. (Several of us have step by step instructions. just ask for them)

Book time is 4 hours per side. 8 hours total.
takes about 4, 6 at a relaxed very cautious pace.

Keep in mind that the cams do add some torque but the bulk of their gain is at 3000 rpm and above.
The KRC cams are even better but hit at even higher rpms.

Gears are constant through power band. but expensive. front and rear gear swap set me back about $1400 total. Best mod I have done to date and I get better mileage.

good luck and keep us posted on what you do.

You best mod was the cams?? Or the gear swap???

I do want to swap out my 3.55's on my 4X4. Maybe for some 4.10's or so and then some bigger tires.

Thank you very much. Now I can shop a little. Probably grab the cams and give them a shot. Have to OK it with my mechanic buddy to see what he wants for labor. I hear you guys on the gear swap its just that the truck is leased so I don't want to go nuts incase I don't buy it out. I already did an add a leaf, cowl induction hood, K&N, aftermarket mags and Goodyear MTR tires. Exhaust will be this week.
I have no doubt that 4:10's will be awesome but if I do that I might as well do a body lift and some 285's as well. This never ends!

No it doesn't end.

As soon as I can spend $$$ on it again I can;t decide weather to do the gears, or tires first!

Damn it! The wife doesn't think I need either!
I'll probably wind up having to buy her some jewelry at the SAME TIME to throw off the attention I give to my truck!

Got the Magnaflow single in dual out put on with 2 round magnaflow tips and I really like it. Probably no perf gain but it sounds great. Quiet while cruizing but a nice deep sound when you step on it.
Still figuring out what the cam upgrade will cost. If it gets too high, I may go with the 4:10's instead as it will make a bigger improvement.

sorry GraphiteDak, I guess that was a little ambiguous.

The gears were by far the best mod to date.
I am running a 32" tire now and if you plan on going with 33's I would recommend the 4.56 gears.
if you are staying around the 30 to 31" 4.10 is good but I would have done the 4.56's.

(ps: buy cubic zirconia, more $ for truck)

I did get her one (CZ) once. But she wasn't happy for long just KNOWING it isn't real. Even tho everyone else doesn't know!

I think I will get whatever tire fits. I hear 33's are TOO big. So I'll get 31's or slightly taller. I was planning on 4.10's. Do you know anyone with 4.56's and that likes them? I would think a 9.25 rear should be able to hold a ring gear that big.

Finally did the HO cam install on the weekend, only took 3 hours 45 minutes including making the chain tension block. It is not a complicated process, hardest part was removing the driver side cam cover, the fuel line is in the way. I took my time torquing the cams and the cam covers, didn't want to break anything. Can't believe the dealer wanted to charge 5 hours labour for the job!
Performance - I wasn't sure going in if I would be able to feel a difference, boy I was wrong. The cams really liven up the 4.7! The power used to taper off by 5000rpm, now the motor pulls strong to 5500rpm, and gets there quicker. Even at lower rpm, there is definitely more torque when rolling on the throttle in 5th at 1500rpm. I am very happy with the results, and I'm looking forward to latching on my 26ft travel trailer to see how much better it pulls!
