Subject: Final Word on Pullies? IP: Logged
Message: So what is the final word for replacing pullies? I have been looking at the three pulley replacements for a 1995 Dakota with the 5.2L and was also curious about how hard will they be to install? Thanks in advance.

Message: You don't want to change that pulley on the alternator, trust me. Been there done that, not worth it. Frankly, unless you are one of those people that have to have every last doo dad you can find to bolt on for a couple extra horses, your money is better spent on something else. The few extra ponies you get out of the money spent and time spent is not worth it to me. If you want to make some power, supercharge or nitrous. IMHO.
If you do decide to get them anyway, get a puller for the pulleys don't beat on them with a hammer and screwdriver. Make sure you torque all the bolts back to spec. You can do this job in less than an hour with the proper tools.
