All the s/c applications seem to start at '96 and '97 model dakotas. with mine being a 95 would it make a difference?

Message: First you must consider the age of your motor and miles. SC are designed for lower miles and well kept engines. You need to factor all these things before you deside to pay the $$$. Check Vortech for your year. If your in 80,90, 100k miles you would proabably asking for trouble. Not saying it can't or has not been done but that is an expensive coin flip.

Message: So what you saying, that my 318 with 131k on the clock probably wouldn't take well to a supercharger??? :-)
Look at it this way. If it blows your engine, just an excuse to upgrade to something better, maybe a 408 stroker. Or if you really want to have some fun, stuff a 426 HEMI in there =D

Message: I put a vortech on my truck at 122K, with a well maintained 318. So far so good. Very pleased with the performance I have gotten out of it. Hot and humid days do a number on it, but I am talking with Marty at KRC and will most likely be getting the intercooler for it b4 too long as well. I am running 6# right now, and he said that I would be safe, yet borderline, running 10#. I will most likely give it a shot, and if the motor goes, the I will be putting in a 360, with better gaskets and bolts....

Message: You might consider swapping out other parts first. Things like the TB, headers, good cat-back exhaust, high-flow cat, cams and roller/rockers, intake and air-filter. These combined will really wake up the truck, and are a little less stressful on an older engine. I have a 1992 with 184k, did the intake and airfilter so far, helped out a lot.
Low 13s are going to be a hard number to shoot for without serious upgrades. Most of the trucks in that range are s/c 360s or higher, with all the above mods and then some, and usually running a shot of nitrous. Look at Dakota52318s numbers - 14.3 with some of the mods listed, including a s/c.

Message: Yeah, just look at mine... at that weight that MPH equates to 300HP at the wheels... now take whatever % you want and you'll get the crank HP. You make it sound like 14.3 is slow, did you even consider the weight of the truck???? If I were 500 Lbs lighter, like Littled's Mark III, then I would most certainly be in the 13s.

Message: yeah thats what i want, 13's. My cousin just bought a mitsubishi GSX. He's got it turbocharged and every thing, and had it running 12.8 seconds(w/ racing furel) down the strip, and its only a 4 cyl. I atleat want to hang with him. my truck is only 2wd so i save some weight there. how much woud you estimate those mods you mentioned to cost minus catback exhaust(already have that) and high flow cat(not required where i live).
thanks littled
