Was reading truck trend today and found out that the SRT10 is made in Saltillo Mexico. Thought I would let everyone know.

yeah, thanks to NAFTA, everyhtings going across the border... damned cheap labor.
Knowing that, I'm curious as to whether they are allowing them to touch the viper motors down south too....

With all that cheap labor and they still charge $45K for the truck? Plus a dealer markup of $10K. Somebody's making a huge profit.

Check this out. How do you think got out of debt? There was this automobile idustry publication on display at the technical school I use to attend. I had never heard of it, much less seen an issue of it. They had an article that dicussed Chrysler struggles with near bankruptcy and the steps that successfully lead them out of it. In the article, they mentioned that a $25,000 and up Jeep Grand Cherokee(remember when they first came out it seemed everyone had to have one) cost about $6500 to build. So I guess you can say they have huge profit margins.

Funny how a little bit of information can lead to alot of wrong assumptions. First off DC builds minivans, Pacifica and LX cars in Canada. They do not build any trucks. In fact DC has closed plants in Canada. Labor in Canada ain't cheap. They even reneged on a promise to build another plant there.
I don't know where the $6500.00 for a ZJ build cost number came from but it doesn't sound accurate. Maybe out of the South American plant but not out of Jefferson. There is a world of difference between what it net costs to build any mass produced consumer goods and what you pay. There has to be. Do any of you work for free? Try carving a GC in your garage for $6500.00. Don't forget, DC spent about $4-5B to be able to build those SUV's. They are entitled to a little ROI, don't you think?
It's funny how on one hand some of you bitch about "damned cheap labor" and on the other hand you want a vehicle for just above CRMM&L. Get real. Do any of you work for just above the cost of living? Every free enterprise exists to make a profit. That's what makes the world go round and round.
Believe me, if the SRT-10 was built in the US of A it would cost way more than it does. Not a flame, just a fact.
