Yes, they're worth it. However, aftermarket (Mopar) valve covers would be required (or modified factory ones). The factory covers have baffles on the underside that will interfere with the roller rockers.
I only know the stats on the 1.7:1 Rollers for the 5.9L's though: 24RWHP more on the average.

Message: See post in group buys section about Crower 1.7. You DO NOT NEED NEW VALVE COVERS! Factory covers work fine, you just need to adjust the baffle a little bit. Just bend the baffle a little, test fit, and no problems. Also, you need to keep the baffle in place. DC put it there for a reason.

Yes, in the short time I have driven the truck (50 miles, mostly in the rain) it seems to break the tires loose easier, more pickup, ect...

As I posted...you can use the factory covers but they would have to be modified.
I've installed two sets on R/T's ('98 and '99) and yes, the factory covers will work...baffle removal or modification is required though. That's why the Mopar covers are recommended...plus, they look much better anyway. ;)

Message: Just in case anyone is interested on the Crower/Factory Valve cover issue:
http://lonestar.texas.net/~bernd/Steve.htm
The person who helped put this together also has done many other Mopars (Ford, and GM) at the shop we both used to work at (he was the owner). The stock valve covers (unless Dodge changed them after 1999) will not fit properly without some modification to the baffle (removal or "dinging" it to fit).

Message: Is it bad to take out the baffles ?? Do they make a rocker kit for 3.9's ?? Or alum valve covers for 3.9's ??

No aftermarket valve covers available (yet) for the Gen-II and Gen-III V6's. You don't have to do anything on the 1.6:1 ratios on the V6's but will have to modify (dimple or remove) the baffles.
It's not bad to take them out since they're main design is for oil drip on the factory stamped rocker arms. Since you're installing rollers, they're lubicated anyway (from the pushrods) and have much less heat generated due to their roller bearings. The only downside is that you may have a slight seepage from the PCV and Oil Breather (and fill) holes. That's easily fixed though.

Message: Crower direct, I bought mine used so I don't know the retail. Took me a long time to install them because I had no idea what I was doing, now I could probably do them in 4-5 hours.

Message: I got mine from truckperformance.com. They got me the kit with guide plates, pushrods and rockers. They also had the best price of anyone, and I checked many. They were shipped direct from Crower and it took 5 days, which is normal from CA to IL.
