Subject: throttle body spacers IP: Logged
Message: i'm looking into buying either a poweraid throttle body spacer or a helix power tower TBS, to increase power and mileage. Any recommendations as to which are better?
Thanks

Message: If our engines mixed the fuel with air before the combustion
chamber (like with a carb) then it would work. These don't work
on our engines as our fuel is injected directly into the
combustion chamber.

Message: What engine do you have? I've heard that the spacers dun work in the 3.9/5.2/5.9 engines, but they have been rumored to work well in the 4.7, I dun understand why. But hey, if you got a 4.7, buy one and let me know if it works, then I'll get one for mine, otherwise, I'm not botherin with it.

Message: If you have a 5.2, the spacers may not allow you to close your hood when you put them on.

Message: Well by putting it on your are effectively increasing the volume
of the intake manifold and therefore lengthening the runners
right?

Message: I also heard that TBS's were useless for anything other than the 4.7, which i have, so i ended up putting a helix power tower on it. I noticed slight improvements in both mileage and power

Message: Loose them.... Don`t you think that if a simple spacer would do all that is claimed the Auto. Manf. would put them on. Just a bunch of horse cocky
