 Subject: Dakota 5.2 Auto Supercharger question

Ok, I have a 1999 reg cab 5.2 auto Dakota 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift, 32" SSwampers and hypertech III. K&N intake, Raven cat back. I am looking for more power, I get smoked by everything, I really hate getting killed by my buddies stock extended cab Tundra 4x4 with 33's on it.
So, I really want a KB supercharger but on their web site it says "for manual only"... What gives, is there another brand of supercharger that I will gain some TQ numbers down low? Can I run the KB?
Would another brand help with towing or would I be wasting my money? I mean do they provide any "usable street power" or are they just for racers?
Maybe a good set of headers and high flow cat?

Save some bucks. Do a cam swap to get more low-end tork and go to bigger ring gears. I'm willing to bet your truck can easily pass 100MPH, but who wants to on 32" Swampers? Trade some of that high end speed for low end pull by changing your diff ratios

I'd get a 4.56 gear, a 50mm throttle body and 1.6 roller rockers and a cam. Those should be very effective.

Thanks guys, any suggestions on which cam to get? what will the roller rockers do for me? What size is the factory TB? I have 3.55 gears now.... sucks I cant find anyone that will change em for under 2k.

I don't know where you saw Kenne Bell say "for manual only" but part of the KB supercharger kit is the Optomizer II computer and a PCM re-flash which re-calibrates the auto trany shifting for the supercharger. So it obviously will work with an auto trans.

Ok. I see. In the price list it says that not in the write up. Stupid. Wonder why that is? I guess you are out of luck with the KB charger then.

How in the world can your truck be that slow? I have 35's on my truck with stock 3.55's and I'll blow the doors off a tundra still... Home-made CAI, headers, no mufflers, jet chip, and a shiftkit. With the 31's it outran stock 5.0's and 4.6's... and so I don't pick on just rustangs, camaro's but not the ss's

KRC 206 cam. 1.6 roller rockers. I think the stock throttle body size is 48mm or 49mm. A 50mm throttle body should do. I also highly reccomend headers also.
BIGTYMER-I'm gonna call b.s. on that last statement. Are you sure those 4.6s and 5.0s weren't V6s?

ive got a 95 MArk III dodge dakota. It has the 5.2 in it also. no one seems to make a supercharger for it except vortech. does anyone know of any other for my application.
