Ok guys I am brand new to the whole rt thing.I am a performace junky.I am getting a 00 white RT with 73,000 mile and looks perfect.
What are the first things I should(or look for)on this thing.
I was thinking of lowering it a little(how-ie drop spindles or what?)and put exhaust on it (what kind is awesome?)
Thanks in advance guys

If you're wanting to lower it, Hotchkis makes a great kit. GS Motorsports, Spintech, and MBRP make great exhausts for R/Ts.

Don't screw around, Hotchkis TVS is the ONLY way to go. The thing handles like it's on rails. It will suprise you.

2000 CC R/T 52mm TB, M1, 2.02 R/T heads (polished chambers), headers 3.5" exhaust, flowmaster 40 single, MP PCM, removed engine driven fan(It's back on now Damnit), MSD ign-BTM, Taylor "409" plug wires with boots, Keith Black pistons, 5140 rods, ARP head studs, Hotchkis suspension 2/3 drop, Transgo shift kit, lot's of little stuff! More to come!

Agreed on the Hotchkis kit. You mention a mild drop, which is what the Hotchkis is. The suspension is actaully designed to increase handling, not lower the truck. The fact the truck is lower is more of a pleasent side effect. IF you want to go lower, talk to the Hotchkis people. They do make custom kits for various applications.

Oh yea, get the blistin shocks with it. Make sure you clean out your truck before taking it out the first time too. You'll be throwing change all over the cab.

Hey eyetrip,

just curious what the whole hotchkis set up cost you..?..also do you have the blistin shocks....?...the other thing i am curious about is the transgo kit....how has it been treating you and your auto tranny...?....i have heard some horror stories, but maybe thats because people went to the wrong tranny shop to have it installed.....when you took the clutch fan off did you just unbolt it and drive the truck without any special thermostat, etc...also, why did you end up putting it back on....bad experience...?...serious internal upgrades too...what kind of 1/4 times do you turn...?..anyway i am also kinda new to all this go fast goodies stuff, so trying to learn from all you veterans....by the way i am in texas near houston, any other dakota nuts near that area....?

my 00 r/t has 73000 miles on it.
I'm pretty happy with some basic mods.
fb 50mm throttle body.
m1 2bbl intake
kn gen2 cold air intake
mopar pcm
gs headers with spintech true duals with cats.
180 stat.
plus keep it zaino'd and clean.

Hotchkis and maybe harland sharp rockers needed.

new brass cap and rotor every 10-15000 miles is a must.
