Message: Looking for some feedback on brake upgrades.
I'm kicking around the idea of the Powerslot rotors, but ideally I'd like to do a complete swap: new discs, calipers, pads and braided steel lines up front, and a rear disk conversion. And I'd prefer to get all components from one manufacturer. And I'd like to be able to do it without having to buy larger wheels (I have the 15X8's right now). Stainless Steel Brake Corp has a slotted kit for the fronts that includes all of the above (except braided steel lines) for $439, and a rear disk conversion for $725 that supposedly works with 15 inch wheels. Anybody familiar with Stainless Steel Brake Corp? I'd hate to blow a bunch of money on lousy brakes, but I can't stand the stock brakes. Aside from any warping issues the stock ones have, they just don't stop the truck with ANY sense of urgency, and the brake pedal feels like I'm stepping on a breast implant...not that I've done that before, but you get the idea.
Any ideas?

Message: SSB makes quality products. If your pedal feels soft or spongy you may just have air in the lines somewhere. I would try to bleed the system before spending $1100. If you have air in the system, it will be at the end of the line, either at the caliper or in the wheel cylinders making it a simple job.
