You guys that are bashing the Trailblazer and glorifying the R/T and have never driven a Trailblazer crack me up. Nobody here really knows what they are talking about... just throwing out opinions based on uneducated guesses. I own a 2000 Dakota R/T and a 2002 Trailblazer and I can say that the Trailblazer is honestly a far better vehicle. The transmission on my R/T started slipping after only 2k miles. I also was a sales manager of a Dodge dealership and it is no secrete as to the questionable build and reliability of the Dodge trucks. That and I could never get out of the single digits for fuel economy, even on the highway. The Dodge is built like a Kia on the inside, everything is cheap and bland, plastic abounds. The seats are uncomfortable and the interior is sparse at best. The ride is harsh and road noise is incredibly load at highway speeds. You all argue about a few tenths in the quarter mile (which is funny considering the Trailblazer gives up 2000lbs and almost 50% more engine displacement)... but nobody covers important stuff. My TB gets around 20mpg which is double the gas mileage. It is a great vehicle in the winter on snow/ice while the R/T is the worst vehicle in those conditions that I have EVER driven. The seats are comfortable and everything in the interior is well thought out and planned. If you are so into performance, go buy a Lightning or a Ram RT/10 and do away with the little boy toys. Or, better yet, get a sports car. The Trailblazer was Motor Trends SUV of the year... the R/T has won nothing but an inability to hold it's resale value. As far as the Trailblazer SS concept goes, that is one nice vehicle. Chevy decided not to put it into production yet, so I'm building one myself. I'm doing a Whipple supercharger on my 4.2 I6 and will easily make 400hp and 450lbft with little to no other modifications. Come find me in your R/T then.

You really have no Idea do you Jer..k, You have never driven f all in your life if you think the R/T is the worst vehicle you have ever driven in the winter, aswell I am quite sure the R/T wasn't meant for winter dork. And for the record I have seen many 'vehicles of the year' come from motor trend and look at them yrs later, that is a joke! And I will bet money you have neither vehicle, Its your mommies Trailblazer.Go cry somewhere else little boy!

Funny. You'll bet money on it? How much? Little boy?? I'm 25 years old and I'm over 6' tall and 260lbs... little boy... good one.

You are obviously one of those guys on the internet who argues just to argue. I don't like people like you. This is a discussion about the two vehicles. I happen to own both of them and found it odd when I came across this forum as I don't own a bunch of vehicles but thought it was cool to happen upon a forum where I could add my 2 cents on a couple of the vehicles that I own. SO, unless you have something intelligent to say... why don't you crawl back into the hole you came from.

I'm not even going to touch the 'fat' comment as everyone has 'internet muscles' as proved by your comments lil' man. You like your R/T, that is fine. I didn't say I didn't like it, I just don't think it's half the truck you guys say it is and it doesn't even compare to the Trailblazer. Period. Don't sit up here and bash something you haven't owned or driven extensively to know what you are talking about. I paid way too much?? I paid $1,500 under invoice (That's right, under invoice, not m.s.r.p.) plus I got $3k cash back so in all reality it wasn't much more than the R/T. Sounds to me like you are just jealous because you can't save enough money from your paper route to buy a Trailblazer. That's okay... some day.

OK lets stop comparing apples to oranges here. As far as performance goes I would love to run my 5.9 Durango 2wd up against a TrailB both without superchargers...if you can run a sub 16 quarter mile with min mods (exhaust,K&N) then my hats off to you. My Durango has run a best of 15.8 at 90mph with problably as much or more interior space than your TB. I'm not going to talk down to you because I do like TBs and they do offer more than a Dak RT..but again it's apples and oranges lets keep the SUV's in their own catagory. With all that said I'd still love to race ya! Peace.

Yeah, well, I'm 6-6" and 300 and I'm 31 years old, and so I say that Jer is a little boy, as well.

Oh yeah, and the trail blazer is a plastic piece of Chevy S-10 based crappola.

Now, let's flex our internet muscles....

Fatty I can't even begin to guess how many vehicles I have driven in my life, for the record I have rented for work everything from a Tahoe, Ford super crews,And yes even a Trailsnoozer (and it wasn't anything special). And I would take my R/T or the GTP my wife drives ANY day over a trailsnoozer. I doubt you got any sort of deal on that heap but hey its easy to blab BS on the net right fatty? But if you like your moms overpriced slug each to their own.Oh yeah my paper route pays very well plus it comes with a 03 Chev 2500 HD full of tools to deliver with. And you...? Are you old enough to drive or have a job. FAT ASS!!
