Message: If you don't have to worry about emissions, then replace the cat with a straight pipe. Add a flowmaster or whatever muff you want if the cashflow is there.

Message: The best way is to get 3 inch pipe behind the converter and get a center inlet 40 series flowmaster and dual outlets with crome pipes out the back or sport truck exhaust tips out of the side I have them out the back it looks great and sounds great $200 bucks for everything later im going to get a super40 flowmaster its a $100 for just the muffler

Message: If you want cheap, most chain store auto places sell cherry bomb glasspacked straigh-through mufflers. Even the biggest ones are only around $20. But then there's your definition of what sounds good.

Message: the only way to be cheap and still make it sound good is to get a flowmaster 40 series single in dual out and run the pipes out the side or the back. if u run them out the side you will be able to hear the exaust more inside the cab.
it would be pretty easy to do urself if u can find a kit or something.
