Message: Not to be dumb, but what is the big deal about these plugs ( 3923 )? Do the AP 5224's plugs work just as well on my 99' 5.2?

Message: Technically, the 5224s (both the copper and platinium types) are listed for the 5.2L and has the extended tip. The 3923s are listed for the 5.9L, do not have extended tips, and are one range colder than stock.
Many, many years ago, a Dakota 5.2 owner on the DML was tipped off about the copper 3923s. He did a chassis dyno with them and found a little increase in rwhp/torque. Note: plugs do not produce hp.
A lot of owners who drag race use them and some use the 3923s if they are having a slight pinging problem.

Message: So for an everyday ride, either one will work the same for me. The 3923's would run me about $1.50, where the AP 5224's ran me $3.50 a plug. Besides the price, they will give me the same performance. I saw in the posts, ( a little late ) that people are using the 3923's in there Dak's. Thanks for the education.

Message: The 3923's and the 5224's should be the same price. I suspect from the price that the 5224's that you were looking at were Platinum's.
