Message: Does anyone know where I can get a better performing set of rear shoes to compliment my new front brakes? I think this will also help take some load off the fronts and help them last longer.

Message: I would have to agree with the ticats, Raybestos makes a great shoe! I have never used NAPA's brakes, though they do have top quality parts in most cases.
Hey uh...
Did you know that if you let go of your peni$ long enough to use your left hand for other things, there is a shift key on that side of the keyboard also!

Message: Does anyone think it would be possible to upgrade the rear end from 9" Drums to 11" drums?
What all might be invovled. I asked my local dealership about it and he had no idea.
I know of the rear disk conversions but the are expensive. I also don't go very hard on my brakes. I just got the SSBC front disk upgrade and would like to take some strain off of it when I put it on by upgrading the rear drums.
Any help is appreciated.

Message: Chomp, best bet would be to find a puked Dak axel at the wrecking yard and pull the complete 11" brake assembly off the dead rearend. Make sure you use the wheel cyliners that came with the 11" brakes because they might be a different diameter than the 9" brakes. The master cylinder could also be different because of the different sized rear brakes and/or wheel cylinders. Write down the VIN of the donor vehicle so you can verify the master cylinder P/N with the one for your truck.
An even better thing would be to find a limited slip rearend wih the 11" brakes at the wrecking yard. Then you could just bolt in the limited slip 11" brake rearend and possibly sell your rearend back to the wrecking yard.
The only problem I could see is that you would still be stuck with the crappy star self-adjusters that are prone to keeping the brake shoes out of proper adjustment
