 Subject: where to get lockers

Where do you guys think the best place to buy detroit lockers is? also, do any of you know how much they are? Its for a 8.25" 10 bolt for my 00 dakota. I can't find prices anywhere. Is it worth paying the difference to get the detroit compared with the powertrax?

If you wheel allot and get into some tough spots a detroit is the way to go, I got lots of great use out of mine. I had the same setup as you 8.25 10 bolt 00 dak. I think i got mine at 4 wheel parts, pretty sure it was a few years ago.

thanks for the reply forefox. Did you have much trouble with it engaging at bad times? I don't think I'll be hauling or towing anything very heavy, but Im scared a locker might break an axel if I ever do. Im sure thats rare though. Im still contemplating whether its worth getting.

I did it all in my truck from hauling loads to wheeling pretty good. I did put an Add a leaf in to raise the back some. Helps with hauling.
Never really worried about the axles.
