Message: are you looking for a bolt on c-notch or a full cut the frame off 6 inch step notch?
I installed a c-notch with my Hotchkis kit, was pretty easy... there are a few ways to cut the frame... easiest by far is a plasma torch.. took all of 10 min per side... you can also use a
sawz-all or a die grinder.. a good drill, some flat black paint, about 16 grade 8... very improtant grade 8... bolts...
first put truck on jack stands, remove rear spring from shackle... it will take the tension off the frame so you don't bend it...
next take your c-notch and a piece of cardboard and cut a diagram of the notch and tape it to the frame... proceed to cut along said diagram... after section is cut smooth out edges and clamp notch in place... proceed to drill out the holes for the bolts.. start with the 2 farthest apart from each other, put the bolts in so the notch is firmly held in place, drill all other holes and install bolts... paint balck and your good to go... I also welded mine just to be safe but it's not necessary...
IMPORTANT... on the driver side right where your going to cut the notch out there is a mount for the brake line... CAREFUL.. there are also tail light wires etc. there... you will have to undo the brake line.. unscrew the flex line from the hard line and slide it out of the mount, the mount has a hex pattern so you won't be able to unscrew it... just look first it will make sense... I cut this mount off the notch and tack welded it to the frame.. you can mount the line how ever you want... it's not hard at all, just take your time and torque the $hit out of the bolts, use nylon lock nuts..
if you have any other ? feel free to emial me, I have pic's if you want to take a look...

Message: I'll probably just do the bolt on. I only need a couple of inches. I don't have a plasma torch but I do have a die grinder with a cutting wheel. I'll probably tackle it next weekend. Thanks for the info!!!!!!!!

Message: ok... well I appreciate a well made part and don't wouldn't trust a $15 c-notch on my truck... it's your frame, don't want to skimp... this way I feel safe to tow trailers, haul my bikes etc... Most shops charge from 60-100 to install them, that's great you saved $100 good for you... let's put a 5k trailer behind it and see if your frame is still straight... oh but you probably don't use your truck for any real useful purpose so you probably don't care...
