Message: when i shifted from 2 H to 4 H (when moving) the shifter went all the way down to the 4 L position. i don't know if it went in to 4 L because i panicked and put it back up to 2 H. now when i go into 4 H the 4x4 light doesnt come on in the bezel, but it still engages the 4 H. did i go into 4 L and why did it slip all the way down when i shifted into 4 H? whats happening here? HELP!!
Message: Don't know if this is problem, but on an old s-10 I had, a nut and bolt on lever going to transfer case had come loose, wouldn't go into 4x4 at all. Also, no resistance on lever. On my '99, to engage 4-lo, you have to pull lever sidegays< then back, a safety to keep you from going into it while in motion. As for light, a bad connection, switch, etc. Hope this helps.
