Message: 1. What does it take to cancel or turn off the "Maint. Req.d" light which recently came on?
2. My '89 V6 (std. 5-spd) treats me to a pungent, unpleasant, almost like burning rubber, smell whenever I shut it down. It's probably putting out the smell while driving and I just detect it when I stop. There is no accompanying smoke, and I can't see any evidence of the source of the smell when I look under the hood. Any ideas?
Message: The main. req'd light (idiot light) is usually signaling you need to have your emissions equipment on your engine tested to see they work properly. It can be turned off my a mechanic who has some diagnostic equipment and knows how to do it. Mine needs done too.
I dont know what to say about problem #2. I've never heard of a truck farting before! LOL
