I did the key on/off trick and i got codes 500 and 455. I believe the vacume leak i have is from my gas cap and i replaced it today. So that should take care of my check engine light. Next my service 4x4 light is on, i had my mechanic/friend hook my truck up to his computer and it said my shift sensor was bad. I went to the Dodge Dealership and they had no idea what a shift sensor was and wanted to charge me $90 to hook their computer up. Needless to say i saved my $90. So what im getting to is, does anybody know the technical name for a shift sensor.
Also when the service 4x4 light comes on i cant click my truck into 4wd, my speedometer will start bouncing and eventually just go to zero. When i slow down abruptly when my speedo is on zero, my truck will stall out. Anybody ever heard of this happening? Oh yeah i also replace my speed sensor a couple months ago, so i know its not that.
