I was wondering if anyone knows if a 99 cherokee 8 1/4 is the same as the dak 8 1/4 I want to put the cherokee carrier in my dak carrier any info will be helpful?

Yes, I believe the internals are the same. The Dakota has slightly larger axle tubes though.
