Subject: Body Lift Question IP: Logged
Message: I'm planning on doing a 3" body lift very soon. I have a couple of questions. First, could I do the job with the help of a friend? The kit itself is only $200-$300, and I don't feel like spending a bunch of money for a shop to do it. What's the basic process of performing the installation? I know it requires lifting the bed off the frame, but what about the cab?
Secondly, what would be the max tire size? I know 33s will fit no problem. Would 35s fit (with front torsion bar crank)? Thanks a lot, guys.

Message: Lifting the body, you may find you need:
Longer brake hose to the rear axle.
Longer, or repositioned hard brake lines that go to the front brakes.
Longer steering intermediate shaft, or the shaft might now contact something attached to the engine.
Dodge is notorious for using the minimums everywhere, so make sure all affected wire bundles, cables, hoses, etc will all have enough slack to accomodate the lift you want.

Message: Get the kit from PA and you'll have no serious problems. It came with everything I needed and then some. Had extra parts for some reason...want's on their list so oh well. Anyways I did it by myself in about 10 hrs so if you have a friend it wont take that long. Have fun

Message: I have 32X11.50 but I got those before the BL. I wish I would've waited to get some 33's but oh well. I measured my tires and they only measured out to 30" so that sucked but it doesn't look too bad. 33's would look killer though.
