Message: I have recently mounted a Westin Safari Bar and KC Daylighters on my 2001 Dakota. All that's left is to wire the lights up. Before I started I was wondering if anybody running auxiliary lights had any tips, such as the best way to run the wires through the firewall. I briefly looked under the dash and all of the grommets at the wall looked pretty tight. Also do you have them wired into the high or low beam headlights? Are they wired through a relay or just directly to the power source? Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

Message: I have the same bar with some Hella 500's on it. From inside the cab to the left of where the brake rod goes thru the firewall there is a large grommet with alot of wires going thru it. I used some mechanics wire and alittle silicone spray, then pushed the wire thru to the engine compartment, where it comes out just underneath the brake powerbooster. Wrap the wires inside the cab around the mechanics wire and put a small piece of tape over it, alittle more spray and then pull it thru easily. I have got about a dozen wires thru there. Mounted the switch under the heat/ac controls, drilled a small hole to mount the switch supplied with the lights. I run them thru a relay so I can control them independent of the stock lights.
