Subject: 2000 Dakota 45RFE? IP: Logged
Message: Hey people, was hopeing one of you guys could tell me about my tranny. I have a 2000 QuadCab with the 4.7 45RFE trans. When im Cruising at 55+ the rpm gauge jumps 250 rpm every now and then, i can also here the jump cause i have a 50 series flowmaster. The truck has around 80K on it.Fluid never been changed. Tell me my trans aint goin out, any thoughts?

Message: Sounds like the torque converter might be intermittently unlocking. It could be a problem with a sensor, wiring, or solenoid in the tranny. Sounds like a trip to the shop is in order.

Message: The trans oil and filters should have been changed at 30,000, and again at 60,000 you way behind son. better get her serviced..

Message: Ya being that far behind in service you should get her flushed and refilled!! It sounds like your TCC sensor is going out! Have it checked and flushed at the same time!!!!

Message: dont know if this is your problem but its what does it on my 2000 3.9
next time engine speed jumps keep in mind how the road was for about the last 3 sec's. found that mine would hop a little on a bumpy or uneven road because my foot wobbled the throttle pedal turning the ecm onto a different page for a second. i partially solved this buy getting another throttle spring and using 2 to get it still, so that the weight of my realitivly heavy foot didnt get in the way to much
