Message: I put my antenna right in the Front-middle of my roof. Realistically, with such a short cable and no weatherstripping on the rear window, its the only place. It looks good. Infact, better than I thought it would. If you wanted to, you could pay the extra to get the one that sticks on the back window. Ive heard that it doesn't work very well, however. Anyways, enjoy your XM, I KNOW I DO! Best investment yet.

Message: I will be installing my Sirius tuner in a couple of weeks and I have a question. Where did you run the cable from the antenna to the tuner? Do you happen to have any pics? I was thinking of going with the XM window antenna for the sole reason of asthetics.

Message: First off, if you are going with the Sirius radio system, the XM window antenna will not work. Just keep that in mind. Secondly, the XM window antenna is a piece of crap. Baisically, you are taking your CD-quality sound and turning it into radio quality sound by doing that. Are you okay with that? I think not! As for running cable, mine is on the roof. The wire runs under the weather stripping for the front window and heads towards the driver side, down the right side of the window and then in through the firewall. Now, my XM tuner is installed under the driver side seat, so if yours is gonna be else where, keep that in mind. Once through the firewall, I ran it down under the carpet and then made a notch in the capet right infront of all the jacks on the XM. Pulled the antenna cable through there and plugged it in. I used that same path to run the USB (I have a pioneer system) cable and power cabled to the front of the cab. The USB cable I just ran back up the firewall and into the back of the stereo. The power into the fuse box. Took about an two hours. But one of those hours was making sure that my XM antenna was in the right place. I hope this helps. BTW, I really like XM and I'm not really a fan of Sirius - so if you are already set, go for it, but if you are questioning it - go for the XM!

Message: I picked the Sirius satellite system over XM because I prefer the lineup they have. As far as the antenna goes, some people have had good results using the XM antenna with their Sirius systems. I wasn't planning on doing this, but rather picking the XM system over Sirius because of the antenna options. I decided rather to go with a less attractive antenna and the programming I prefer.
I was wondering if anyone has tried running the wires through the third brake light above the rear window?

Message: I put my Sirius antenna above my 3rd brake light and ran the wire under the light. When you pull the light there is a hole that a bunch of wires run through. I fed the wire through there and ran it down under my rear bench seat and put the tuner there. I have pics if you want me to email them to you. One note: The gasket around the 3rd brake light is not real spongy so I put a small bead of ATV sealant along the gasget to be sure of no water getting in.

when I had my Ram, I ran the two micro-coax leads to the back, up the B-pillar, and out the center brake light. Made two small notches in the brake light and sealed it with a small dab of clear silicone.
" Secondly, the XM window antenna is a piece of crap. Baisically, you are taking your CD-quality sound and turning it into radio quality sound by doing that."
not possible. the TX from the satellite is digital. If the antenna is affecting that in any way, it'll be a loss of sync, therefore your signal will cut out.

Message: I just bought a Jeep Rubicon and installed an Alpine 9815. I know that the Alpine is ready for XM displays and have aux input as well. My question is is there a way to use the same XM subscription in my car and in an at-home receiver without the family plan add on cost? I know I can move something like the Delphi between car and home on the same subsription but space is at a premium in the Jeep and I'd prefer to use the existing Alpine in the car. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated

Message: Unfortunately XM charges by the receiver regardless, so NO you can not operate both an in home unit and a vehicle unit at the same time. I have a Pioneer in my truck and the Delphi for home and portable (boombox) use.
