Message: I have a 91' Dodge Dakota with a v8 engine and
want to give it a body lift of some sort. The
only problem I am coming up with is that the 3"
lift won't work on the V8 model and I was
wondering why this is? Does the 2" one work on

Message: The radiator is attached to the body and the engine to the frame. If you lift the body, the cooling fan will not clear the lower radiator hose. Just plan on replacing the stock fan with an electric unit and you will have no problems. I will warn you and anyone else reading this of a few problems I had when I installed the body lift on my ’88. Go to my web page http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com/myplans.html and read the section on the body lift. It will give you the details.

Message: Ben,
The stock fan on a V8 doesn't clear the lower raditor hose when using a 3" body lift. If you swap to an electric fan, you will be able to use the 3" lift.

Message: On a Gen I or II 4x4 Dakota you will be able to fit 31" tires with a 3" body lift . If you use rims with more offset than the stock rims, you may have some minor rubbing under full articulation. To fit 35" tires, you will need to add a 4" suspension lift and you will have some rubbing.

Message: I also have an 88' Dakota 4x4 nonsport, I was wondering if you had any problems with the rear drive line length after everything was done. I have the A904 transmission. Im getting ready to put a 2' body lift and 32x11.5x15 tires on the truck with the offset that you recommended . I have also done a lot of research myself and found the same information and similarities in between the 88' - 96' Dakotas and they are the same. i just wanted to know if you ran into any other problems other than the tie rods and brakes before i buy the lift kit DD43SSV. Thanks for helping and putting this information online for all. I was getting ready to get rid of it but now I'm not. Thanks again and i look forward to hearing from you.
