Subject: tires IP: Logged Message: thanks for the emails and response. I have already check those lifts out, the only thing I have located is a 3" body lift, rancho is having a problem with the rack and pinion steering on the new dakota. Does anyone know the biggest tires that will fit without a lift on the 2000 4 x 4 club cab dakota. |

They only rub a bit on the frame when turned all the way to either direction, mostly when parking. They look great and perform much better than stock tires, especially with the limited slip rear end. You will need to turn your torsion bars up a bit and realign the front end but they are a far cry better than the supposed 31" stockers( if you measure they are actually 29"). the only ones that make these are Goodyear Wrangler GSA's. |

jesse Unregistered 1/23/2001 14:37:19 | RE: tires IP: Logged Message: the best tire to slap on the newer dakota's is 31x10.50x15's unless it's lifted. if you squeeze on 32's then you'll rub especially is you off- road at all. I put on 31 bfg mud terrains. it really adds a mean streak to the truck. Plus they get the job done in mud and sand...don't try to over size the tires, it's just beggin for probs. Lastly, leave the torsion bars alone!!! I know it really looks sweet with the from end jacked up with the addition of 32's, but you're gonna screw up your front end. in the long run it won't be worth a sh*t. So be patient, someone will make a lift soon...good luck, jesse |

Dave GenIII 1/24/2001 11:02:41 | RE: tires IP: Logged Message: By cranking up the toraion bars, you place additional stress on them. This could lead to premature failure. This is what I have read by a number of people. Dave Fisher 1998 Dodge Dakota Club Cab Sport 4X4 3.9L V6 |

I would like to fit 32's on my truck but I have not tried it. I am going to test fit them this weekend at Americas Tire where I used to work. I will let any everyone know as soon as I try it. If anyone has tried this please let me know. If 32's don't fit and someone is looking for a change from 31/10.50's, Goodyear makes a 31/11.50 AT and MT for a 15 inch rim. I will be trying these if the 32 does not fit. |

Saturday Feburary 3 I went down to Americas Tire Co. to test fit a 32/11.50R15 and it fit with no rubbing. It was an AT and the reason that an all terrain will fit better than Mud tire because they tapper in at the edges. I have not tried a mud tire so I can't say anything about those. |

I need a larger all terrain tire. I believe as of now the stock tire is a goodyear 275/65/r20. I'm trying to find a 285 or 295 with an allterrain tread like the BFGOODRICH ALL TERRAINS. Any info would be appreciated. |

Kowalski GenIII 6/01/2006 16:20:03 | RE: tires IP: Logged Message: I'd suspect more so for the 3.9 than one of the v-8s, and definitely a little bit if going with a much more agressive tread - you could even see that with the same size tire and a more agressive tread; and most 31's are more agressive pattern.
